Mrs. Smith's Kindergarten

     Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Meleesa McGuire Smith and I teach the morning kindergarten class in room KB. I began my teaching career in 2003. I have taught preschool, kindergarten, first and second grades. My passion is teaching kindergarten and it is definitely my happy place! I was born and raised right here in the South Bay. I went to preschool through high school in Torrance and Redondo Beach. After high school I went to the University of San Diego where I received my bachelors and teaching credential. I was a board member for the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation (RBEF) for 4 years. In June 2007, I was one of two teachers in RBUSD to receive the first ever Excellence in Education Award. It was such an honor to be rewarded for something I love to do everyday! My husband and I live in Redondo Beach and have been blessed with 4 children: Connor in 2010, Delaney in 2012, Molly in 2015 and our newest baby Shaylee in 2017! The four of them have brought us more joy than we could have ever imagined! I truly feel that having my own children has helped me to become a better teacher to my students.
