Welcome to Room 17

Hello Families,

 

Welcome to our third grade Room 17 site. My name is Anne Sharp. I have been teaching at Washington Elementary School since 1998.

 

I received my BA from UC Davis, which included a year of Study Abroad in Venice, Italy, at the Academy of Fine Arts. My Credential work was completed at CSU Dominguez Hills. Since then, I have studied in the LUCI Math program for educators through UCLA, and Readers' Workshop through Teachers' College at Columbia University.

 

I enjoy teaching upper elementary and have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, with 15 years dedicated to 5th grade. Third grade is a wonderful and productive year to teach, since students go from learning to read to reading to learn. I love helping students through this transition.

 

My favorite activities are painting and walking at the beach in Redondo, where I live with my husband, and, when they visit, our two sons. I love living and working in Redondo Beach.
